What it is
Bandit is a whole-class ELT game for grammar and vocabulary practice. A set of items is displayed in the centre of the screen, teams take turns answering to win them into their own rack, and the first team to collect four items wins.
The strategic twist is the bandit system: each team has two bandit moves that let them attempt to steal an item directly from a rival's rack. A correct answer on a steal attempt transfers the item. A wrong answer leaves things unchanged, so timing matters.
A team grammar and vocabulary game. On each automatic turn, open an item, have the team agree on one answer, lock it, reveal it, and mark it correct or wrong. A correct answer adds the item to the team's rack. Each team also has two bandit moves for stealing an item by answering correctly. Use Mixed Levels for teams at different levels and the red flag to replace a faulty question. The first team with four items wins.

Who it suits
Bandit works across the full CEFR range from A1 to C1, depending on the question category selected. It suits most age groups and class sizes. The blend of knowledge and strategy means students who are weaker on grammar can still contribute by thinking carefully about when to use their bandit moves, which keeps the whole class invested.
How classroom play works
The teacher opens the game on a shared classroom screen — a projector, interactive whiteboard or classroom display — chooses the number of teams (2, 3, or 4), selects a CEFR level and question category, and the game begins. Teams take turns answering questions displayed on screen. The teacher confirms correct or incorrect answers. No individual student devices are needed as everything runs from the teacher's screen, projected for the class.
Skill focus
Questions are drawn from grammar categories across CEFR levels A1 to C1. In game, the teacher can assign different levels to each team using the Mixed Levels option so, for example, one team gets A2 questions while another gets C1, and so on, to keep things competitive in mixed-level classes. See the CEFR guide for how levels are applied across Lingadoo games.
